Helping traumatized children heal through
creative interventions

My Name is Trauma (MNIT) creates an opportunity to learn about Trauma in a way that is educational and practical, and also playful and imaginative. Creative interventions, such as music, dance, movement, martial arts, yoga and art, are used to help children and adolescents create resilience through play; creating a shift from victim to survivor.

I came across this book in Canada when attending a Bruce Perry symposium. I am a social worker who treats adults, children and clinicians affected by Trauma. Whilst the book covers a broad range of traumatising issues, its strength is in its explanation of how trauma experiences affect people’s thoughts, feelings, and body symptoms. It is a playful, accurate and easily digestible book suitable for all ages. It is strengths, resilience and recovery focussed. It deserves a place in every clinician’s library.. with some extras to share!

I recommend it very highly!

Your body is an amazing thing. It has the ability to heal. Over time, I can relax and be trained.
